<lj:music>Caspian Winds - Omar Faruk Tekbilek</lj:music>

...when looking at the rubbish I posted in the first two entries. It's entirely necessary for me to remember not to post half-arsed doodles here when I'll only look back at them and think "god, what was I smoking?"

I seem to be collecting things. Animal skulls and bits of skeleton around my bedroom, a fox spine hung off the back of my door. Ankle length coats. Masks. Pictures of stars. And I get the same itchy feeling in games too, which might explain why every chest or barrel in Elder Scrolls: Oblivion is filled to the brim with jewels and daedric armour at the moment.

Well damn. Someone needs a new hobby.

Merry (pre-emptive) Christmas.

    <lj:music>Butterfly - Crazy Town</lj:music>

Sometimes I sit down and wonder what happened to the things I used to write. I have this vision of sprawling, rotting, black worlds that have been abandoned for millennia, and all that remains are the strangest people in them, mutated in the mind and body. It's strange to realise that since I came into fandom and begun experimenting with fanfiction I've clipped down my style, trimmed the decadence and fitted into a shape not my own, playing by imposing constraints. Saying 'today, I will find a way to write something with as little description as possible'. But then, I've learned about things like plot, and how to balance description with action. And I wonder, whether the trade was worth it. I think it was. But I want the decadence back. The smoke and the kisses, the night blooming flowers and necrophillia. So, this monster of a story that's lurking in my mind can be the vessel I'll pour it all down into.

It's worth a try, after all.

    <lj:music>Whistling, whistling</lj:music>

Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen.

I have more art. I've been making it a pre-requisite that I sketch at least one thing in OpenCanvas before I finish the day and go to sleep, which means I've got more sketches kicking around my hard drive than pennies in a jar (I've got a lot of pennies). Somehow I got this idea that I'd draw companion pieces of art to my fanfiction, and that that would help me improve, but every time I sit down to do that I end up with something else. On the plus side, that anime-stylee has got better than last post. Cut is image intensive.

And here we have a sketch in the progress of being coloured. I'm trying to do a proper job this time instead of just slapping some colour on. So, Harry Potter or Tom Riddle?

The sketch for my fic 'Maelstrom'. Those are the three Harrys, who don't look so good now but will hopefully look better all pretty and coloured in.

Looking a bit like Tsuzuki from Yami no Matsuei, hmm? The hair has to change though, it looks horribly silly.

Ssss *hisses*. You can tell he's evil just by looking at him. Look at all that malevolent black cloak. (some decent line-art for once.)

Till next time,

Linc

<lj:music>Corners - Common feat Kanye West and The Last Poets</lj:music>

'Lo. So, I figured I'd get a livejournal. They seem like the things to have, though I don't know how much I'll end up updating. Other things like RealLife, and fanfiction and drawing like to step on my fingers whenever I go to update my journal, which is why it took so long to put in a starting entry.

Mainly, this will be for my art. I write fanfic also, but that's over at FF.net.

So, I haven't drawn anything anime style for about a year. I wanted to come back to it again. Behold the rosy cheeked, pink-nosed androgenous child...

So I thought, hey, I haven't done any Tom Riddle fanart before, so I started on this, but it predictably degraded into standard vampire-esque poor colouring picture. Colouring and me do not agree, we're not a happy family.

I'll post more when there's more to post,

Till then,

Linc
